I, too, am very interested in your comparison of the two cities-I have a brother in Rochester, and we discuss the difference(s) quite a bit.

Rochester appears to still have more white collar/wealth, while Buffalo is grittier, more fun, clearly larger and more artistic (apart from the fabulous Eastman House).

Yeah, I look forward to this chart. I personally love syracuse, but Rochester has always had a much better music scene. Buffalo is beautiful though with its inherent charm.

I have also used the the program Zemanta. My experience with the program is that it pulls relevant content (pictures,links) about 65% of the time. While I agree that it is not perfect, it does offer up enough content that I can pull from to accomplish what I am trying to do. I think as some time passes, they will improve its function enough to entice a larger user base.

Hey,

One app I recently tried out is called Zemanta. It sits next to a text box (example: your email or text box for blogging) and pulls relevant pictures and links from the web that are related to what you are writing. It’s new and not perfect, but definitely fun to play with and so far when I’ve tried it out I’ve been able to find some pretty interesting articles through it.

I second Roger’s request. I’m naive to South Buffalo with cousins in Rochester and Lancaster. I live in Georgia now, but it is always a popular debate at family gatherings as to which is the best.

Sorry to hear you guys are leaving. My wife and I moved to Rochester in the early 90′s from Syracuse and love it here. I was stoked when I saw some local references on your Lifehacker posts. Hope Buffalo is a better fit – we’ll miss you here.

Interested to see your comparison of Rochester and Buffalo. I’m a Rochester native and my wife hails from Buffalo. We’re now living in Florida and miss both cities for their unique characteristics.
